Axe(s) of research
The UCBL-CNRS-Inria team BAOBAB-ERABLE involves 38 researchers (including external members), postdocs, PhDs and engineer. The team has broad interests in computational biology and is proposing string(sequence)/tree/graph algorithms and models for the computational analysis notably but not exclusively of symbiosis. The group leader, Marie-France Sagot, had been granted an ERC Advanced Grant project (2010-2015), SISYPHE, to work on this topic. The team is also partner in 2 European grants, an FP7 KBBE, BacHBerry, and an H2020-MSCA-ETN, MicroWine. Since the recruitment of Vincent Lacroix as Associate Professor in 2009, the team is also strongly investing in the development of methods for the analysis of NGS data that is at the heart of an ANR Grant, Colibread, headed by Pierre Peterlongo (GenScale Team at Inria Rennes – Bretagne Atlantique), of an Inserm grant, Exomic, headed by Didier Auboeuf (Inserm Lyon), and of an Investissement d’Avenir, ABS4NGS, headed by Emmanuel Barillot. The BAOBAB-ERABLE team is also at the head of an Associated International Laboratory, LIRIO, with Brazil, and of an Inria Associated Team, ALEGRIA, also with Brazil (Instituto de Biologia Molecular do Paraná – Fiocruz-PR, Paraná). The team is moreover associated to the “Pôle Rhône-Alpin de BioInformatique” (PRABI), to an IBISA platform, and is member of the RENABI network.
