The Team Biostatistique-Santé (Head, Pr Pascal ROY), and the Service de Biostatistique of the Hospices Civils de Lyon (Head, Pr René ECOCHARD) represent the two facets (University and Hospital) of the same team of biostatisticians working for the University Hospitals of Lyon. Within the Hospices Civils de Lyon, the mission of the Service de Biostatistique is to offer support and assistance in biostatistics, epidemiology, and clinical research. The Team Biostatistique-Santé is one of the research teams of the UMR CNRS 5558 (Head, Pr D. MOUCHIROUD) that works on several projects pertaining to genetics and bioinformatics (transcriptome, proteome, genome). Five research axes are developed:
- Axis 1: Incidence, Mortality, Survival (Nadine Bossard, MD, PhD).
- Axis 2: Populational and biological variability, measurement errors (René Ecochard,  MD, PhD).
- Axis 3: Inference methods in medical decision making (Muriel Rabilloud, MD, PhD, Fabien Subtil, PhD).
- Axis 4: Individual prediction. Identification of Biomarkers. Bioinformatics (Pascal Roy, MD, PhD, Delphine Maucort-Boulch, MD, PhD, Claire Bardel PhD).
- Axis 5 : Statistical Methods for clinical trials (Delphine Maucort-Boulch, MD, PhD, Fabien Subtil, PhD).

The team includes two university professors and hospital practitioners (P. Roy, R. Ecochard), two university associate professors and hospital practitioners (M. Rabilloud, D. Maucort-Boulch), one university associate professor (C. Bardel), one hospital practitioner (N. Bossard), one university hospital assistant (F. Subtil), nine statistical engineers (Mmes E. Dantony, A. Klich, C. Mercier and Messrs A. Belot, F. Boutitie, L. Remontet, B. Riche, S. Roche, L. Roche), 3 secretaries (Mmes M. Canova, M-T Chaumeil, S. Robert), one scientific advisor (J. Iwaz), 11 doctorate students, trainees in biostatistics, and 5 Masters degree students.
