Axe(s) of research

Our team studies processes of genetic, life-history traits and morphometric differentiation between natural populations and individuals at different spatial and temporal scales. We aim at identifying the role of environment and ecology in these differentiation patterns, with a focus on the role of selection and developmental constraints in diversification. The role of hybridization as factor of phenotypic differentiation but also as threat for wild species is also addressed.
Our favourite model organisms are small rodents, small and medium-sized carnivores and ungulates. Our team develops projects addressing fundamental issues as well as conservation and management.
