Axe(s) of research

Our research activities focus on community ecology to understand the ecological and evolutionary processes driving species assemblages and biodiversity at various temporal and spatial scales. We work on contrasted biological models (large African mammals, insects, microbes, plants). Our research is intimately connected with conservation and management issues associated with the functioning of socio-ecological systems. We conduct experimental studies, ensure several long-term field surveys and manage the CNRS-Hwange LTER. We have a strong expertise in statistics and modelling (e.g., multivariate analysis). This activity leads to the development of new methods and statistical software (e.g., ade4 package for R).
